You are encouraged to use the extended break as an opportunity to connect with your families and engage in self-care for yourselves.  Some different ways to connect include: engaging your children and teens in meaningful conversations to learn more about their interests; spending one-on-one time with loved ones; making intentional efforts to learn about and getting to know your children’s friends; limiting your children’s screen time and monitoring any social media activity.

The holiday season is typically a joyous time, although for some it can be stressful or emotionally challenging, especially during these uncertain times.  It is ok to ask for help. If you or a loved one need some emotional support or assistance during the break, here are some resources:

As a reminder, LAUSD schools will be closed for Winter Break beginning December 21, 2020 through January 8, 2021.  Classes will resume on January 12, 2021.

During Winter Break, the Los Angeles Unified School District Student & Families Wellness Hotline (213.241.3840) will continue to operate December 21-23 and January 4-8 from 8 am-5:00 pm.  The hotline provides mental health support, as well as information and referrals for basic needs, enrollment, nursing, and other student supports.
